Tekken 8 is officially announced with incredible new story mode footage

Tekken 8 It’s real and we’ve got a new trailer showing just how awesome it looks. The Tekken series is one of the most loved fighting games out there and is an essential franchise of the genre. They debuted in the ’90s alongside the likes of Mortal Kombat, but both franchises were following Street Fighter, so they all had to find ways to make sure they stood out. Mortal Kombat doubled down on its blood and violence while Tekken was going to be an epic, dark and cinematic fighting series that continued to wow fans for decades.

After a teaser earlier this summer, Bandai Namco revealed their first look at Tekken 8 In the PlayStation State of Play which is pretty cool. Katsuhiro Harada confirmed That the footage shown was not previously rendered specifically for the trailer, but instead was rendered in real time from the game’s story mode running on PlayStation 5. That means on a visual level, this is what the team strives to achieve in the final product. Of course, the game is still in development and we don’t even have a release date, so things can change and maybe even be improved to be more cinematic than if you were actually playing. Harada also noted that there are a lot of dynamic weather effects and that the ship disintegrates in the background which is something fans can expect with the different phases of the game when it’s released. Harada also stated that the game “will focus on the father-son confrontation between Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama.”

Needless to say, it looks like Bandai Namco is already pulling all the stops for this. Since it’s already been 7 years since the last entry and it’s still likely to be way off, it seems worth the wait. Hopefully it won’t take long for us to see some raw gameplay and get a feel for how the game plays under normal circumstances.

Tekken 8 Coming to Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5, and PC later. what is your opinion of the game? Let me know in the comments or hit me up TwitterCade_Onder.
